Aviva Funding Finalists

Hot on the heels of news that Anchs HC have been shortlisted for Medway Sports Club of the Year, we’ve now also heard that we’re one of the finalists for up to £1,000 of funding from Aviva.

Thanks to 1,880 votes by Anchs members and supporters, we reached the final round of the “sport in the community” category and are hoping that the much-needed funding boost will be winging its way to us soon.

Thanks to Chairman Gary Jackson for pushing this one and to all who voted!

Anchs up for Club of the Year award

Anchorians hockey AND football clubs have been shortlisted for the Medway Sports Club of the Year award.

Competition in the Medway Messenger sponsored event sees hockey well represented with Holcombe Park also among the finalists. The results will be known at a special awards ceremony on Friday 16 December where GB Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock will be the guest of honour.

Anchs HC Chairman Gary Jackson said: “It’s a tough category as we’re up against our very own football friends and fellow hockey club Holcs but we’re delighted by the recognition of this year’s efforts which have seen a new astro being laid, ClubsFirst accreditation and lots of news members for both our junior and senior sections with Back to Hockey providing a huge influx of new faces.

“Just being shortlisted is a major achievement and a lovely early Christmas present for us. Well done to all the club and committee and thank you all for your support!”
